I had meals here a few times. The food is as fantastic as usual. The service was good. The staffs are friendly, polite and take care of the customers always. I highly recommend the starters. I've tried many of them but didn't try the deep fired cabbage ball because I'm not fond of cabbage. All the starters I've tried were so impressive. I like the Laksa noodle and pineapple fried rice a lot as well. If you like spicy food, creamy and coconut milk, try the Laksa noodle . Also, the desserts were very nice. I don't see taro pancakes/ sweet potato balls with ice cream in another place.
vegan paradise. delicious food, great portions, warm and friendly staff. definitely going to come back and try everything on the menu!
worth booking ahead as is popular and gets busy
Best vegan food I have ever tasted. Everything was delicious, well balanced and tasty. One dish almost made me cry because of how good it was. If you’re going for a marvellous culinary experience in Edinburgh, this is the place to go. The only negative is that they’re closed on Mondays, otherwise I would have come and eat there today as well. Absolutely spectacular food, do not miss!
Highly recommend - one of the best meals we've had!
We had to come here twice during our short Edinburgh visit.
I recommend booking a table for dinner service. The restaurant was packed in the evening.
During lunch time it was less busy and we could easily get a table.
The food was absolutely stunning and worth the price - beautiful presentation, beautiful flavours and textures!
The service was very friendly as well.
While all the dishes were fantastic, our favourites were Satay Tofu, Nasi Lemak, Rendang Lions Mane Mushroom, and Corn Ribs with Guinness Sauce.
We will definitely visit again whenever we are back in town!
This is the third time I visited Soul and I brought along my sister this time. They never disappoint! My favourite is the salt & pepper lotus for starter. We also tried the special starter which was the corn 🌽! That was surprisingly good! (Too excited and forgot to take photos of starters! 😂)For main, I went for the noodle with wonton , again, amazing! My sis had the yam and she loved it! And to finish off, the ice cream is a must have for me every time! 😊
"Welcome to Vegan Paradise" states a neon sign as you enter, without exclamation. They're not kidding. Soul Vegan really does deliver the goods with excellent Vegan Malaysian dishes, including a very tasty Rendang I had during my visit. Everyone in there seemed to be regulars and loving the food and friendly service. I'll certainly be back, and for visitors, it's a worthwhile 15min walk from Waverley Station.
Really lovely Malaysian vegan food with friendly and helpful staff. All the food looked and tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for vegan Malaysian food. Not too spicy, just right. We’ll be back to try the sweet potato fritters with ice cream!
A MUST TRY Asian cuisine. A place definitely worth visiting. Price is moderate; £10-20 per person. Food is fabulous. Great customer service. It's tucked away at a quiet street but surprisingly it gets very crowded during lunch and dinner. Accessible via Bus 14, 1 min walk from alighting bus stop to restaurant. We walk-in 30 mins right after restaurant opens (5.30pm) and was advised by staff reservation is highly recommended. As we are still early from dinner crowd, we managed to secure a table with a grace period of 1.5 hours meal duration. Restaurant has limited tables. Cozy ambience.
If you like spicy food, recommend Laksa Noodles (Spicy creamy gravy with rich coconut milk). Katsu Curry rice (short grain rice) with King Oyster Mushroom is less spicy, slightly on a sweet side. King Oyster Mushroom is thick and juicy, coated with crispy crust. Gan Lau Mee aka dried noodles comes with a special chill sauce mix is awesome; not very spicy. They use the same noodles for both Laksa Noodles and Gan Lau Mee and both comes with gyoza and char siew (mock roasted meat - awesome taste, crispy, a tint of sweetness and BBQ taste, not gluten texture). Not alliums free. Do request to omit alliums garnishings if you abstain from alliums.
